The Cornfield Project

Welcome to our website.

The aim of the Cornfield Project is to provide additional recreational facilities for the villages of Portskewett and Sudbrook, such as an all-weather track, a memorial garden, wildflower planting, fruit trees, etc.

Summer 2022 Updates

Car Boot Sales

The Cornfield car boot sales have been held fortnightly throughout the summer, with attendance steadily improving. We are still seeing many people coming to the Cornfield for these events that didn’t know it existed prior to attending the car boot sale.

The last car boot sale of this season is scheduled for Sunday 25th September.

Woodchip donation

Neil at TR33 Landscaping has kindly donated a large pile of woodchip for the team to use in the field.

Preparing for sowing of wildflower seed

A couple of large areas of land in the Cornfield have been rotavated by the team in preparation for sowing of wildflower seeds.

The team have been working with Monmouthshire County Council to ensure that the right wildflower meadow mix is used, with little to no grasses, and including yellow rattle seed.

Chris Lee Acoustic “Live at the Cornfield”

We collected £268.07 at Chris Lee’s event held in The Cornfield on 14th Aug 2022 – thank you everyone for being so generous, and thanks to Chris for the fantastic entertainment!
Viv Danks provided the donation buckets for use at such events, which proved to be a great help with getting donations towards the work that the team do in the field.

Also huge thanks to Debs for helping with collecting around the field during the event!! You’re a star!!!
